MELTING
Every culture has remnants of something other.
Other literally means a person or thing that is different or distinct from one already known.
Other means something opposite to oneself.
Other also means further or additional.
Additionally, I was born other.
I was born to revenge with rage burning through me. I swore an oath centuries ago, an oath I died for.
Fires burn out.
But not mine.
Even death could not assuage it.
I’ve been here ever since watching humanity grow duller, waiting for her. I learned the hard way that revenge cannot be accomplished alone. I needed her, but she wasn’t born yet.
She was other too. She simmered with magma underneath.
God, she’d be beautiful when she erupted.
I will have my revenge no matter the cost. I don’t care if I burn both worlds to embers. I don’t care if it kills her.
